Message from the Co-Chairs

Welcome to AFP Orange County’s 34th annual National Philanthropy Day, “Philanthropy from the Heart!” We are honored to serve as co-chairs of this year’s event.

National Philanthropy Day is a celebration of volunteers and community leaders encouraging philanthropy in all its diversity. These wonderful individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and youth honorees exemplify what it means to be philanthropic and give from the heart.

We encourage you to nominate a person, group, or business (or all categories!) to recognize their selfless contributions to Orange County, and we invite you to attend with them to celebrate their contributions at National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, November 14th at the City National Grove of Anaheim.

Nomination categories include:
• Legacy
• Philanthropist
• Founder
• Volunteer Fundraiser
• Small Corporation or Business
• Medium Corporation or Business
• Large Corporation or Business
• Philanthropic Group
• Youth or Youth Group

One entry is selected by a volunteer community panel as each category’s outstanding honoree. These outstanding honorees will be recognized onstage at the celebration, attended by more than 800 of our region’s top nonprofit executives, business leaders and philanthropists.

We look forward to celebrating all nominees and honorees this year. They will represent for all of us what it means to share “Philanthropy from the Heart” here in Orange County.

As Orange County residents, we are fortunate to be in the midst of people, groups and businesses that selflessly share their wealth and service with others to make our world a better place to live. Many of them receive little recognition for their good deeds. National Philanthropy Day is the one special day of the year that we all gather to share their stories, gain inspiration from their spirit, and show them some love!

For more than 30 years, this wonderful day, founded right here in Orange County by Doug Freeman, honors philanthropists’ contributions that improve our communities and benefit the greater good of our society. We invite you to celebrate the spirit of National Philanthropy Day throughout 2019!
