Message from the Co-Chairs

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Orange County (AFPOC) and our Honorary Chair, Leona Aronoff Sadacca, we are excited to announce the presentation of the 39th annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the City National Grove of Anaheim.

Orange County has a strong history of philanthropy. While we value the traditions of the past, we also understand that philanthropy and the social impact sector as a whole are ever evolving. In many ways, Orange County is leading the innovative change that is happening in our sector. Inspired by the words of last year’s Outstanding Philanthropist, Maya Patel, we are excited to announce the theme for this year, Honoring the Past, Innovating the Future.

This year’s celebration will recognize new honorees and celebrate past honorees whose dedication and generosity greatly enrich the quality of our community through their service, support, and resources. There will be a time to connect and network from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and the luncheon and awards from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

We encourage you to submit an individual, business or group who exemplifies altruism, service, and passion to make our world a better place! A volunteer panel of philanthropists and community leaders will review the submissions and select an individual, group, or business to represent each category as this year’s Outstanding Honoree. However, all who are submitted are considered honorees and will be recognized by having their name listed in the program, displayed on the screens at the event, and by being asked to stand for a round of applause.

The 2024 nomination categories are:

  • Legacy
  • Philanthropist
  • Founder
  • Volunteer Fundraiser
  • Small Corporation or Business
  • Medium Corporation or Business
  • Large Corporation or Business
  • Philanthropic Group
  • Youth or Youth Group

More details about this year’s National Philanthropy Day will be available during the coming months. In the meantime, please mark your calendar and make plans to join us on Thursday, November 14th at the City National Grove of Anaheim.
