Every year in Orange County, National Philanthropy Day—produced by the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals— honors organizations and community members selected for their outstanding volunteer efforts, charity donations and commitment to the betterment of our community. National Philanthropy Day was founded to recognize the great contribution philanthropy makes to our society, and to honor individuals, businesses and support organizations that are active in the philanthropic community. Initiated nearly 30 years ago by Orange County’s own Doug Freeman and celebrated internationally, the awards ceremony has recognized more than 1,000 honorees, and has become one of the most prominent philanthropic recognition events in Orange County.
