Marilyn Ditty will never forget the older woman that she met during a visit to a nursing home.

The woman’s disabilities kept her bed-bound, but she still found a way to help others.

“She told me ‘I call 10 people every day. … I just say, hi, how are you? I’m just calling to check in and see how you’re doing.’ And she makes that her life, giving back, calling these people,” Ditty says. “She said it lifts my spirits.”

Ditty’s life, too, has been about reaching out and lifting spirits.
